The full story: We’re hiring a Columbus-based addition to our Business Development team. We need an entrepreneurial-spirited go-getter with a thirst for networking – who gets excited about the attention to detail it takes to move a company from a prospect to a partner. This position offers a little bit of everything – from writing, outreach and working on proposals, to deep-diving into our CRM to find opportunities to craft meaningful touchpoints to engage and support our network.

Own Geben’s business development fundamentals. Effectively maintain CRM pipelines and develop insights and strategies based on this data to identify/create opportunities to “wow” prospects with valuable touchpoints; keeping a pulse on work across the agency, identify high potential case studies, pitch angles, and other touchpoints for clients and prospects.

  • Follow our network of contacts/prospects in the news and community to identify opportunities to create meaningful touchpoints.
  • Finding and executing on opportunities to surprise & delight our network (gifts/card for holidays, accomplishments and awards, media recognition, industry trends, etc.)
  • Conducting research and briefings on new business meetings and networking opportunities
  • Reporting on weekly/monthly/quarterly activities & results
  • Crafting proposals for prospects
  • Initiating the contract/billing process

Be an avid networker and ambassador. You’ll be perfect for this role if you enjoy meeting new people and creating relationships with entrepreneurs, big business marketing leaders, and community influencers. We’ll teach and train you on The Geben Way so that you’re well versed in PR and why Geben is different than any other agency.

  • Identify & attend events/functions, such as local association events and conferences, and provide feedback. Create connections. Gather intelligence.
  • Uncover community service/support opportunities that can position Geben within new networks

Research. At Geben, we pride ourselves on working hard and staying in-the-know. As business development coordinator, using a combination of internet research, professional networking connections, media monitoring, and referrals to identify prospect and client touchpoints will be a daily activity.

Writing. Having a writing style that is conversational, compelling, and concise is indispensable in this position. From drafting pitch presentations & writing proposals to crafting prospect outreaches, capturing the tone and voice of Geben is essential to success.

Logistics. Details matter. Creating a boutique-style experience for Geben’s contacts and prospects sets us apart from others. You’ll occasionally work with prospects to set meeting times, coordinate logistics, and send confirmations and follow-ups.

Marketing. Assist and often lead in lead in the development and execution of company marketing and communications. This may involve coordinating email and direct mail campaigns, organizing events for prospects/clients, or drafting sales materials for new services/capabilities.
